Hydrolates, also called hydrosols, are the pure, waterbased solution created when essential oils are steam distilled from aromatic plant material.  The oil separates from the water and is poured off, yet leaves trace oils in the remaining water called “hydrolates”.  Spritz hydrolates on the skin to increase moisture before applying lotions, oils or creams.  Mix with one of our clays to make a mud mask.  Following are some of the most popular hydrolates:
